What is Pilates?
Pilates ("puh-lah-teez") is a system of over 500 controlled exercises that engage the mind and condition the whole body. It is a balanced blend of strength and flexibility training that improves posture, reduces stress and creates long, lean muscles without bulking up. It is sometimes called FLEXIBLE STRENGTH “Pilates is a Controlled movement originating from the Center (or Powerhouse) executed with Precision and Coordination and proper Breathing to enable Flowing movement from one exercise to another”.
Its focus is in the quality of movement rather than quantity, thus making one feel invigorated rather than exhausted after a session.
